      EDWARD N. KUMP.
      Edward N. Kump, an old settler of Jefferson county and for many years a prominent resident of the town of Sumner, died at his home 208 East St., Wednesday morning, May 29, after an extended illness.
      Mr. Kump was born at Little York, Pa., on October 15, 1928. he came to Wisconsin in the year 1846, and was married to Polly Plum on November 25, 1856.
      Two children came to bless their union, Matilda E., now Mrs. H. A. Howe of this city, and Albert E. now of Marshfield Wis.
      Following his married he resided continuously in the town of Sumner until twelve years ago, when he came to Fort Atkinson to make his home.
      He leaves to mourn his death his beloved wife, two children, five grand-children and one great grand-child, also one brother Louis, of Cambridge.
      The funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Friday afternoon. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
      The deceased was assesor of the town of Sumner for a period of twenty years and town clerk for fifteen years. His loss will be deeply felt by a very wide circle of friends.
