    • MILITARY: Veteran of the American Civil War, Private, K Company, 3rd Wisconsin Infantry. The "History of Jefferson County" lists Stephen enlisted in Company H of the 3rd Wisconsin Infantry. Records of Audry Fromader lists that Stephen died of a wound sustained in battle in Oct 1865 near Dallas, Georgia.
